Hey! My name is Lisa T. and I'm a mom to twins. (get it, Twinmom4603?) I have a good partner in my DH and I teach First Grade. I've been a teacher for 13 years. I have a happy busy life. Except...My health is rapidly declining. That's why I made the decision to have my RNY. I'm hoping my very long list of health issues decreases as my weight goes down. I have fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, boarderline diabetic, metabloic syndrome, degenerative hip disease, 4 bulging discs in my lower back, early onset arthritius...I could keep going but I'm sure you get the idea.
My weight has always been an issue. I attended my first weight watchers meeting in high school. I've always been active inspite of my weight but it is time for me to lose the weight and be as healthy as I can be. I've been on every diet known to mankind, at least twice. I have a few friends that have had RNY's or DS and they inspired me to head down this path.
I'm a positive, upbeat, bleeding heart kinda girl. I love my family (which includes my Golden Retriever, Calamari). I enjoy scrapbooking, jewelry making, many crafts, camping, fishing, reading, cooking and shopping.
I'm looking forward to a new me in 2008. A healthy, happy me.
