Jon L. Schram, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Schram is a great man. He truly cares about his patients. He was very open about the risks of surgery and the advantages. He answers all your questions and then some :-)
I've now had surgery and just wanted to add that Dr.Schram says a prayer before you go into surgery. Loved that! Very comforting.
Tuesday is your day!
Just remember you
are on the journey
of a lifetime. Try
to enjoy every
minute. It may sound
weird now, but know
that you are cared
for and prayed for
here, and all too
soon this will be
but a memory and you
will be an
inspiration to
someone else. I am
waiting for you on
the losers' bench! ~

Okay...so I really suck at this blog thing. LOL I'm just over 6 mths post-op and extremly happy. I am down 111 lbs now and my life is so much better. No regrets!!! This was the right decision for me :-)!! For those of you who haven't made a decision yet...research and research some more. This surgery has changed my life and can do the same for you. I love my RNY!!!!!!!
Well,,,surgery is on Tues and I'm ready. I've pretty much gotten over my fears (thanks to the great people on this site) and now I'm ready for the new me :-)! I'm anxious to learn what this new lifestyle will bring to me in the future. No more sore legs, feet, broken chairs, buying clothes just because they fit, being tired all the time, feeling awkward in public...and the list goes on! GOODBYE all the ugly things that consumed my everyday life! GOODBYE!!! You will not be missed ;-)!!
YIPPEE!!! YIPPEE!!! I have a surgery date! YAH HOO!!!! June the 5 th is the big day. The day my life changes. I cannot begin to express how happy I am to begin my new life! I cannot wait to be able to do more activities with my little boy! This is great. :-)!!
Well..here I sit. Impatient as can be. It's only been I week since I received approval and I'm waiting to hear from Ypsilanti about a date for surgery. I'm not very good at waiting. I wish they would call alreadly! Where can I get some patience? I just want this to happen so I can begin my new journey in life :-)!
Well...Good news yesterday. I was approved by OHIP for surgery in Ypsilanit Michigan! Wow...I can't believe I'm actually going to have this done. My life is going to change for the better and I can't wait. I will no longer let this weight control my life!!!
Hi everyone: Well....here it goes. I'm 35 years old and I've been struggling with my weight since I was about 14 years old. I have been on every diet you can think of, I've tried Weight Watchers one too many times and I've tried Xenical too many times to count. In all these attempts I have lost weight only to gain it back again and then some. It's the same ol' story that everyone else tells. My weight has gone from 180 lbs at age 14 to 321 lbs at age 35 :-(
I have a wonderful support system. I have a great husband of 10 years, a sweet 6 yrs old boy, wonderful family and great friends. They have all vowed to be there for me when I am finally approved for surgery (except my 6 yrs old :-)). I cannot believe that I have let myself get to this point, but I have and I need to do anything that I can to create a healthier ME!
