Waiting to go to the information session

Well I took the first step. I signed up for an information session about WLS. I will be going November 18th. I am really excited, and at the same time nervous that I will find out that I am not eligable. I have United Healthcare, and I know that they pay for it. but I do not know if I meet all of the critera. I have a BMI of 41.6, and I am over 100 pound over weight. I have a history of Heart Disease on both sides of my family, and my father, grandmother, and 3 aunts are type 2 diabetics. I have tried Weight Watchers 3 times, as well as many other deits, and while I would lost around 30 pounds, I would always gain it back.

So I am just doing my research now, I am so happy I found this site, it has been so informative! Everyone is so nice. And reading profiles, and looking at before and after pictures are so inspiring!

Well good luck doing your research, and I know what you mean about this website, I am totally addicted and come to every single day to converse and stay inspired by other people. Keep us updated!

Girl! You will be approved faster than your mind will be able to realize! I had UHC too. It was approved within 3 days I think? Something like that. Be prepared when they call to tell you though...I was driving...NOT GOOD! ha hah! I got all light-headed cuz it was like winning the lottery!

I didn't have half the family health risks you did. My BMI was 42.5 and had mild sleep apnea. No other health risks in the family.

Only words of advice, research your doctor. Mine was board certified and practiced for 15 years. Mortality rate was lower than the average...0.2% I think it was. Average is 2%. Thanks to him, I've had no complications whatsoever and am able to enjoy my life as though I'd never had the restraints of weight against me.
