~* 6 Weeks (a few days late)... *~
on September 8, 2012 2:04 am
Well here I am at 5:06 AM just over six weeks post op WIDE AWAKE!!

A bunch has changed...

First is obvious, I am almost 50 lbs down already! CRAZY!

I have had to buy new clothes already, I went from a 28 pant to a 24!! I bought my new jeans (and the rest of the new clothes last wednesday, just over a week ago) purposely on the tight side because I am still off work until the 17th and don't want to have to buy new clothes again before then. They are already loose on me!! I can't decide if I am happy or sad about this b/c it is going to cost me a fortune over the next however long it takes me to make goal.

Going into this process I had an allergy to all cow byproducts (I could eat the actual cow but nothing that comes out of it). Well, I happen to be one of the lucky ones that this rerouting has actually cleared this up!! PRAISE GOD!
That being said I am now opened up to many more protein options, making it so much easier to get in all 60 (min)g of protein a day.

Yesterday afternoon I have signed up with Goodlife Fitness and am SO excited to be able to go to the gym(even if I am not able to do any weights until the 25th when I hit my 2 months), I plan on going for some cardio tomorrow, and most days from now on for that matter.

As for how I am feeling, I am totally off my dilaudid and feeling no more pain. However, I am still getting tired fairly easily.

As a closing note, I have added my one month photos as well as a few from a banquet I went to last week, yup a post op RNYer at a 6 course banquet.. and not a single bite I shouldn't have had (but I'm not gonna lie, the deep fried pickles looked soo delicious!)!!

~* Surgery went well, but... *~
on July 28, 2012 9:23 pm
It has been a rough couple of days so far;

I went into the OR with back pain (not a real issue for a while now, but then this week ... I decided to be an idiot and lift a suitcase full of clothes and a LapTop back pack full AND my camera bad full of my photography equpment.

I should have known better than to do that,, but meh, what can I do now?

As far as the surgery, it was perfect, Dr. Anvari was my surgeon, he said it all went perfectly, 6 port sites, The RNY went awesome and he removed my Galbladder as well.

I have 2 of my port sites are dimpling a tad bit, and let me tell you.. THOSE HURT!!!

I have been eating according to my plan, getting full very easily, but I am not hungry for anything!

I am waiting for now is this horrendous back pain to go away!!! I just want to sleep comfortably!!

My Story

My Story.. Where to begin...

I was an average size child; kind of on the small side to be honest when I was young.

Then I started to become chubby in grade 5ish, it only went up from there.

I started grade 9 as a size 16 and finished that grade as a size 26; and have been that size until now (at age 27, going on 28).

This was also about the time that my back issues began; I have had about 5-7 "spells" of my back going out to the point of being in a wheel chair at one point, in the hospitalal another time, and stuck on bed rest many other times.

This, as you could imagine, caused great concern and prompted my long road to understand how this could have happened. I started going to my doctor to get answers. After a few years I was diagnosed with PCOS and began my long road to get to where I am now; waiting for my surgery date.

I can't wait until I begin the first day of the rest of my life.

Thank you for sharing in my journey; and helping support me along the way.
