Surgeon Testimonial

George G. Zorn M.D.
Dr. Zorn entered our (me and hubby, who is the patient) lifes and saved the day. See profile for details. Our first impression, was a man who seemed approachable, honest, direct, and seemed to really understand the difficulty involved with losing weight for a very obese, high risk person. His office staff, specifically, Mylah is wonderful and patient. Cannot say enough positive about her. I would recommend patients ask questions, no matter how silly they may seem. He will explain things to you and not simply give you the bottom line answer. Which I really appreciate...we like the info, it made us both feel more comfortable and confident in his ability. Dr. Zorn, strongly emphasized aftercare, and was a bit conservative in his aftercare suggestions, which is fantastic. He cares. He is simply great and we both highly recommend him. He is sensitive and understanding, great bedside manner. If you have any questions please email me. I can't really say anything negative about him...maybe later ;-)

I was looking at the surgery date pages and saw that you live close to me, so I thought I would stop to say good luck (I assume since its early afternoon that you are done and in recovery already) and I cant wait to see some after photos in the coming weeks and months!

Home for the holidays
on December 23, 2006 10:41 am

Well everyone, I am home safely from the operation and the traffic coming from San Diego. I am so blessed. The operation went smoothly, no problems tolerating liquids, except for mild nausea the first day. I ran a fever and caught a cold. The coughing feels great on my tender tummy but oh well right? I want to thank everyone who posted warm wishes, positive thoughts and words of encouragment for me...they meant a great deal to me. My biggest challenge now is not drinking too fast...man I hate that tight full feeling and being so bored with liquids right now. I can't say that I am hungry but I would love to have other flavors in my mouth and Oh to chew again...simple pleasures huh?

Surgery date obtained
on October 27, 2006 6:57 pm
Well everyone, I got the call I have been waiting for...my surgery date is on Dec. 18th, 2006. I feel both stunned, excited and scared shitless...like oh my God it's really going to happen and please don't let me gain any more weight before The Day. I think I am still in shock because I have not felt the giddiness that I thought I would feel. Perhaps it's my conflict of starting a new job (this week) and then dreading that I'm going to have to request time off...horrible timing. I am torn between telling them now (crazy talk...been here a week and I need time off) or waiting at least until December to sort of spring it on them (but then they get to see what a fabulous employee I am).

Nothing to do really but continue to make better choices about what I eat and not kick myself when I screw up but just get back on the plan.

Hope you all have a great week-end and let me know your thoughts...
