TAKING CARE OF ME

well i had my birthday yesterday, i enjoyed the day at la jolla shores
my family met me in the afternoon, we had a bon fire it was great!
i am only weighing at the gym and havent been yet this week but last week,
july 3rd i was down to 218 a total loss of 32 lbs.  i have so much more energy, adding foods slowly, since so many have upset my system. went out with sara, michelle and becky on friday to cheesecake factory after we went to seaport village.  food is becoming less consuming i am learning to enjoy
music, the beach, gardening, shopping again. i look forward to buying clothes in the regular sizes again.

life after surgery

hello oh friends!
well it finally happened i had my wls on may 21st, 2007. pacific bariatric is great dr. tanaka is very professional, and also kind.
having surgery the same day as becky was so fun , we walked together as often as we could. the day after surgery is a little blurry, i had pain and naucousness. but wed i felt much better . last weekend i went to cabo san lucas mexico a great place to relax and recover.
i am down 12 lbs so far and feel so good i have to look at the small marks on my stomach to know that i had wls.michelle was so inspiring thru all of the process! my classmates carol and janan are just a step ahead so i have an idea of what to expect. i am so glad i finally did this. love jolene

My Story




My name is Jolene, I am 46 years old. I live in San Diego with my husband and two great kids. I have struggled with my weight on and off since the birth of my son 20 years ago. In my teenage years I stayed thin by starving myself and Im sure I was anorexic during that time. I have tried every weight loss program- optifast, weight watchers, Jeni Craig, Medical Reduction Clinic and most recently- the patch! Over the years my blood pressure has risen and I now suffer from acid reflux (GERD). I am excited and anxious about my decision to have gastric bypass- Roux En Y. I would love to hear your experiences as I prepare for my surgery in March. God Bless!
