Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
My story & compulsive eating obsession dates back to my late adolescence, where I would use feed to mask boredom, frustration, and lack of happiness in general. Being brought up in a very restrict third-world environment, I didn’t have access to allot of entertainment and activities, except for possibly jogging and swimming, which I did very minimal of. Starting from my mid teen years all the way to my late 20's, I was using my favourite food to celebrate an achievement, cherish an important event in my life, or to mask stress. Preface

Hi everyone. I have recently lost a bit of my excess weight, but still have 120lbs to go. My dieting and on=again off-again exercise days are so over, and I have had a very serious awakening; Starting a lifestyle that will NEVER forget about health and weight management.

I used to bodybuild and weight-lift about 8 yrs ago, and that is what I am starting again, along with swimming. My calorie intake has been cut into 1/2, and lots of replacement for fatty food and white empty carbs. I manage to go to the gym 4 times a week, 1 hour each comprised of cardio and swimming.

All your opinions and information share are greatly appreciated!

Cheers, Robert

My Story

My story & compulsive eating obsession dates back to my late adolescence, where I would use feed to mask boredom, frustration, and lack of happiness in general. Being brought up in a very restrict third-world environment, I didn’t have access to allot of entertainment and activities, except for possibly jogging and swimming, which I did very minimal of.

Starting from my mid teen years all the way to my late 20's, I was using my favourite food to celebrate an achievement, cherish an important event in my life, or to mask stress. My biggest weaknesses are processed meat and cheese, along with break and beer. Being in abusive and unhealthy relationships, I was depressed for a long time, and using food and alcohol as a refuge.

My wake-up call didn’t happen until May 2012 when I was told that my weight has reached an "off-chart" number, and then less than 5% of the male population in Canada will make it past 45 with the kind of BMI that was predicted by my family doctor.

Being an engineer, I spend 8-12 hours a day sitting!!!I have recently joined the YMCA and started swimming 45 minutes every morning before work. I am trying to do this without surgery, but since I am still a kid when it comes to health and well-being, I am all ears and willing to learn about it as much as I can.
