Whew!! protein.... I have added more protein each day. In the morning I have a protein hot cocoa, then in the evening i have another protein hot cocoa. I make it with cappuccino protein powder 1 scoop, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of Hood calorie countdown chocolate milk. The powder has 23 grams, and the milk has 9 grams of protein. I take about 30 minutes to sip these when i do have them, my doctor said drink my protein slow. So that is a extra 64 grams a day of protein. I have to do blood work again the middle of December and see how it's going. As for weight loss, i have no idea. I will weigh again on December 6, which will be 7 months and i will measure too. The holidays are fast approaching, I am making a crock pot turkey breast this year, we usually fry one. I am making a sugar free cheesecake (yummy) i found some low sugar mashed sweet potatoes... i am upset with how much sugar is in cranberry sauce!! like 22 grams of sugar! that's insane. So i am going to make some sugar free home made. Then I will be left with a ton of left overs! my husband leaves for 1 week the day after Thanksgiving for his hunting trip in Ohio with his brothers, and will be hitting BLACK FRIDAY :) like i need anything... i have my eye on a 42' Lg plasma TV though, it's 499.00 I figure i can sell my TV for 250.00.. have to wait and see!!

6 month surgeon appt on November 9, 2009 3:28 pm
Well, I was surprised she was not a rough on me as my Nut. was. But my protein is 13.3 at my 3 month appt it was 17.3 I am suppose to be at 20-30, so it's not good. I have to more blood work in 6 weeks and see what my levels are then, and she wants to see me again to decide what she wants to do about my protein level. I am eating all protein rich foods, I eat every 2 hours. I have been eating natural peanut butter, tuna, fish, beef jerky, nuts, protein bars, protein shakes, protein cereal, greek yogurt and carb master yogurt. If it does not have enough protein in it, I don't bother. I have added a protein hot cocoa in the morning, and another protein shake in the evening, and sometimes a extra yogurt too. I know i am getting about 90-110g protein a day. So I will to see what happens in 6 weeks, this will be right before Christmas. I had to get another tube of blood drawn today for one they messed up or mislabeled. It was the one that is "protect from light" which I found out is a thiamine test, so it took a minute at the lab. I am down 75 pounds, Dr Olsen is okay with the rate of which I'm loosing. I still only weigh once a month, which my doctor said she wishes all patients did that! I just can't weigh all the time, it makes me nuts, I would feel like a complete failure if i weighed twice a week, and it was a pound here and a pound there. I'm much happier weighing once a month and having it be 5-12 pounds, sometimes more. Weigh loss is slowing down a bit now, but i knew it was coming. I want to lose 39-44 pounds more. Wish me luck!!!

6 month nutrition appt on November 6, 2009 4:45 pm
Saw my Nut. today. I need protein, protein and more protein. My level is 13 and should be 20-40 which is what my bariatric nurse called to tell me. My Nut. was friendly about it, don't think it will be that nice when i see my surgeon on Monday. She said a protein level of 13 is what someone in the hospital has, and that I am at more risk of being or getting sick. I feel like I eat ALL day. She wrote down some of my meals, and said I seemed to be getting in a good amount of protein, but i may be one of the people who need 120-130g a DAY!! It is rough enough to get in 100-110. My cholesterol is now 157! down from well over 200. Everything else in my blood work was fine, except they messed up the thiamine level, so I need another blood test for it. I went to the lab, but the order was not in there yet, so I will do that Monday morning. I need another follow up at 9 months. I missed my post op support group/class this month. The first I missed, I was in Raleigh all day. I am 6 months today and am 189, down from a preop of 264.... size 12's fit nice, starting to see loose skin in more places now, thighs and those damn upper arms, geeze i hate them... the whole side of my family had grandma bat wings and i am no exception to that rule, i have grandma bat wings. I would love one day to have my arms done, a breast lift or reduction and a tummy tuck. Oh well, as for now, I am happy, I am losing, i have not been below 200 in FOREVER!!! and it feels nice, confidence is coming back, and men customers at work wink at me (lol) and my tips are better!!! bigger tips, more moola for me!!
