9 month post op check up on February 9, 2010 6:44 pm
Whew, things went good, I was surprised. My weight is 174, a total loss I think of 96 pounds. My bmi is 27, protein is still low at 15, but it is up from 13.3 which my doctor said is a good jump, yipee! I told her my personal goal is 150, she said anywhere from 159-163 is good for my height. So i am literally only 11 pounds overweight, who would have thought?? not me that's for sure. But I really want to be 150, so that is 24 more pounds. She said my weight last time at 6 month post op was 190, so weight is slowing down, that is why I don't want to weigh!! all my labs were great as was vitamins! although I am pushing sometimes 160 g of protein a day! a low day for me is 80g, I get most of my protein from shakes, I love them.. Atkins, Eas, Wheybolic, Oh Yeah, Lean Body... I am lost without 2 a day!! and i make 2 hot cocoas a day with protein mix, hood calorie countdown chocolate milk and sugar free caffeine free international house coffees YUMMY!! I'm getting ready to have my 3rd one for the day. My doctor says it okay, I told her I would rather have shakes than food! she just laughed and said most people are the opposite, shakes are more satisfying to me. So no more checks ups until my one year mark!! May 5, 2010 and if im lucky, I will be at goal, and have a protein level of over 20, where it should be. She also said maybe next time I may get a B-12 shot, but mine is still on the high end.

I'm going to meet with my nutritionist and my surgeon tomorrow for my 9 month follow up appts. I think I have been doing pretty good. I upped my protein to over 100g a day, mostly in the form of 2 protein cocoas and either a EAS or a Atkins drink. Sometimes I will add in maybe an ounce of beef jerky, extra cheese stick or maybe some peanut butter. I have not been in enough water, it's been cooler now and I just don't drink alot then, but I get in the 2 protein cocoas, 1 oh yeah shake and a Atkins too, hope that liquid counts! I'm mainly worried about my blood work results tomorrow, last time I was 13.3, then I was retested in another month, it was still 13.3. I am going to have my nutritionist pull up my blood work tomorrow before I see my surgeon. I can eat a little more now, tonight I had 2 ounces of baked chicken breast, a small spoon of mashed potatoes, and a bite of corn. I have not dumped in along time, which is good! I've had a upset stomach a few times, think it was gas. Gas-x thin strips are the best!! Wish me luck for tomorrow!!
