5 day pouch test on January 24, 2011 2:27 pm
Well, last week I decided I would try the 5 day pouch test. I was at home anyway, I had endovenous ablation on my left leg. Which is a newer procedure for varicose veins. It is a in office same day treatment and it went wonderfully! happy to say. I took a little over and hour, and I walked out afterward, and drove myself home (I wasn't suppose to) but I did have a ride waiting to get me. So, anyway... I stayed home on Wens when i had it done, through today. I have a munching problem at work, i take all my stuff pre measured and weighed, but i snack, snack snack!! AWFUL. So, I said it is another perfect time to do the "pouch test" Plus I need to lose a little more for my evaluation for a tummy tuck, which is in March. This time being a nut, I didn't weight myself (DUH) but anyway! It went really good, my clothes seem looser. But what is the best, it really helps with the snacking phase we get to! Although I would not snack alot, I snacked more often and could eat more than what I wanted. But I love protein drinks anyway, so the pouch test suited me... I drank Atkins, EAS, carb control slim fast and also mixed my own powder protein drinks. I would say I had 3-5 protein drinks a day, then i would have a diet hot chocolate and lots of water. By time Sunday came, and I did have food. I was not interested in it LOL. But I ate a scrambled egg and 1 1/2 pieces of bacon and little bit of wheat bread. I was full from 930am until 200 pm that afternoon! it was wonderful! then i had a slim fast for lunch and some baked chicken for dinner with about 6 green beans it was awesome. Today at work, I took my usual... 1 oz beef jerky, 1 oz cheese stick, 1 carb control yogurt, 32g of peanut butter, 1 oz of nuts, 1 1/2 oz of ff chicken salad, 5 crackers and a 1/2 of a protein bar. This lasts me ALL day until 5 pm. Today i ate the jerky, nuts the peanut butter and 3 crackers and the 1/2 protein bar! STUFFED!!! brought the rest home! I will do this again before I see my surgeon in March and weigh myself first!

made it through Thanksgiving & Christmas on January 3, 2011 7:17 pm
It was a nice holiday, I made lots of food that i didn't eat, some i didn't even taste. I managed to make cheesecake twice and not eat it, well.... i ate a bite or two, but that was all. We did not fry a turkey, glad of that!! Matter of fact, I did not even cook, we went to Savannah for 2 days. I find myself picking more at my food, than eating it. like tonight I ate 2 meatballs, some sauce and a bite of bread. I still would rather drink than eat, eating is not appealing anymore. Sometimes it smells sooo good, but then i don't want it. My treat is a decaf skinny cinny latte at starbucks, i have about 2 a month. I thought my vitamin levels were down, but they are all good! I am having varicose vein procedure on the 19th on my left leg.. I had problems before and also had vein stripping on my right leg. I have been having problems with both legs. I have visable veins in my right leg with some swelling, tiredness & heaviness. But now my left leg is also doing it, with no sign of varicose veins. I had a ultrasoud done a month ago which showed that the valves in my left leg are pretty bad. They are going to do a endovenous ablation on my left leg, and a regular surgery on my right leg. My right leg will probably be done some time in Feb. So hoping all that will go well. I had to have a upper gi, i had dummy gallbladder attacks, but it came back negitive, so that was good news, but don't know what that pain comes from every once in awhile. Don't know id I have reached goal or not, I do not weigh... i guess I should, hoping for a tummy tuck this year! I am still a size 6, most times my tops are mediums, sometimes i get a boost and get to buy a small. If it was not for these DAMN fat arms!!! but atleast it's not my whole body anymore! someone the other day told me i was so slim and pretty... wow! me? are you sure? how do you handle these new compliments? it's still new to me!! i just smiled and said "thank you"
