Surgeon Testimonial

John W. Baker M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Baker is that he truly cares about obesity as an epidemic and helping obese individuals. That impression has stayed with me both times I have met him. His staff is very friendly in person. On the phone, they seem a little eager to get OFF the phone. (I understand that, they're busy.) I don't have anything that I dislike about him so far. Future patients should know that he is no-nonsense, direct and honest. (He has beautiful blue eyes too that almost hypnotize you if you look into them while he's talking to you. It's weird - I'm not kidding.) He really puts an emphasis on aftercare, even going so far as to say that he doesn't want you for a patient if you aren't going to do the aftercare. He does have a structured aftercare program that is really supportive. He is blunt about the risks of surgery in his seminars and in all the paperwork you have to sign. I would rate him a 10 out of 10. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great.

I hate the new heatlh tracker here.  I don't like the way it logs weight, etc (without the decimal points, etc) so I refuse to use it.  When you get out this far (maintaining) a lot of time your weight only changes by decimal points - but that doesn't mean I don't want to log it!  And I certainly don't want to start rounding!  So I'll just log it on here for the time being (and on my excel spreadsheet I keep everything on of course)!

The kids out of school now.  My son is about to go to football camp this week (part of it anyway).  He has one camp later this summer.  My daughter has a cheer camp later this summer.  She's got to sell ads sometime this week for cheerleading.  (Joy.)

Hubby started his new job and likes it.  He loves the schedule, so that's good.

My knee is giving me fits.  I bought a brace for it this week.  It seemed to work well to aleviate pain after walking yesterday when I wore it the rest of the day.  But today it did not keep the pain from coming when I was in the process of walking this morning - so that was disappointing.  I figure when insurance kicks in on hubby's job, I'll be getting those knee injections because I can't stand this.

I have an appiontment to get my hair done today.  I need to shower first though because I just got back from walking.  It's hot enough that we sweat now.  I hate sweat.
