The Climb
on March 4, 2009 6:45 am
What a great new song by Miley Cyrus.  I'm a country music fan, and this song really spoke to the trials and tribulations of life, not to mention WLS and the aftermath.  It IS a constant battle and things will get in your way, and you will get tired from the constant uphill battle, but it's SOOO worth it on the other side.

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move
Always going to be an up-hill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on,

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move
Always going to be an up-hill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

Valentines Day Goal Official Weigh In
on February 14, 2009 6:31 am
My Valentines Day goal was to be at 200 lbs by then.  I didn't quite make it, but was close enough to be very happy!  I know I will make it next week!

Weight as of when I started the 'goal challenge' 12/24/08:
217
Weight as of 2/14/09:
203

Total Lost:
14 lbs!!!

My next goal will be to be 'overweight' or 190 lbs by Easter (April 12).  Considering it will take me almost 2 months to get to my real goal of 200 by Valentine's Day, I am not going to be so ambitious to lose another 10 in a short time.  If I make it, great!  If not, it's okay, too.  I like setting these little mini goals to keep me focused instead of focusing on 50 plus pounds left to lose.

Valentines Day Goal
on February 11, 2009 5:42 am
It doesn't look like I am going to make my VD goal of 200, but I am pretty close.  I'll probably weigh in on Saturday just to see if I am any closer, which I may be by a pound or so, we'll see.  It's been nice, the past few weeks I have been losing 3 lbs per week instead of my regular 2 lbs per week.  Not sure if I am doing anything different, but I'll take it!  Thinking back to a couple years ago when DH and I were doing Weight Watchers and I lost 40 lbs to get down to 240 and I was excited - it's been over 6 years since I've been down to this weight and even that didn't last long.

13 more lbs and I will be officially overweight!  I am pretty excited about that one and hopefully will be able to reach that one in the next month or so.  Maybe that will be my St. Patty's Day goal, although that is pretty ambitious considering I am having problems with my prosthetic knee lately.  I want to exercise, but it really is one thing after another that seems to bog me down.  It's frustrating to say the least.
