Update On Me on November 26, 2007 11:55 am
Hey everybody! Nothing really newsworthy goin' on here. Just livin' it day by day. Haven't had any complications as of yet, and hopefully it'll stay that way. I go see Dr. Diaz on the 29th. I think he'll be really pleased with my success so far. It's hard getting all that fluid in, but I'm trying. I'm down 17 lbs so that's good. I know I should stay off the scale, but I get so excited, it's hard to. My mom says my face looks thinner, but I can't see it yet. Although, she pointed out a new dimple in my face I've never seen before. I can see it now that she showed me. Funny how those things change so quickly. I just got off the phone with the Short Term Dis. claim people, so that looks pretty good.
All in all, I'm doin' wonderful!

I'm A Loser! on November 22, 2007 4:38 am
Had my surgery! Everything went really well. So well, in fact, that I only had to stay in the hospital for one day. I'm tender on my left side, but it gets easier day by day. I can't wait until the 29th when I go back to the Dr. to get this drain tube out. I'm not draining very much, so that's a good thing too. I'm still pretty tired. My mom has been very helpful. She's been by my side the whole time. The day after surgery I WAS thinking...WHAT did I do!? I was just sore. I'm having no problems giving myself my Lovenox shots. I wondered about that, but no, no problem. Well, I'll keep ya'all updated. If you're reading this, you must be interested so I'll do my part! Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving today!

Today on November 10, 2007 11:52 am
Hello! So I got that ingrown toe nail cut out...OUCH! Gladly he prescribed me pain pills. I never would have thought it would be this painful. It is getting better though. I had to go back down to St. V's for a CT scan because Heather called me and said they saw something in my chest Xray, didn't know if it was a nodule or what so... What she said to me was, "I can tell you right now, it's nothing, but they always want to make sure." But I'm done with that now. I've got this sinus crap goin' on too. UGH BUT...When he worked on my toe he also prescribed me Zpack for infection, so that should help with my cold too...I hope. Surgery date is getting so close I can taste it so I don't want to have a cold or anything to interfere with that. That's all that's happenin' with me for now.

PreOp Testing on November 6, 2007 2:22 pm
Okay, so today I went for my preop testing and bloodwork. The first nurse stuck me three times and couldn't get a vein...I'm not even usually a hard stick, EVER. Maybe she was just tired. haha After she sent in the next nurse, who got me on the first stick by the way, I lost about 7 or 8 vials of blood. They test EVERYTHING. I had to breath into a bag, then drink this stuff and blow into a different bag. H Pylorie test, no prob. Next, it was over to Cardiopulmonary where the did an EKG and I did a couple breathing tests. This was where I received my Spirometer and was instructed to use it 4 times a day until surgery to "practice". Then, it was time for XRays. First, chest XRays, easy. Next, ultrasound, no problem. Lastly, UpperGI. Not fun. Barium=Ick! First I had to swallow these little crystal things that were kinda like Alka Seltzer and made me feel like burping, but the nurse told me not to. But I did while I was trying to choke back the barium. Ooops...so she gave me a little more. Then I layed on this table and she took all the pictures she needed, and POOF, I was done. All in about a little over 2 hours. Sheeeeew, what a day. Thursday, I'm goin' to my PCP to get this ingrown toenail taken care of. See if I ever get a pedicure again. UGH Anyway, that's what's been goin' on with me as of late. Now I gotta get ready for work. 13 days to go til surgery!! WOOOHOOO!!
