Greetings Beautiful People
Today was so hectic but the God I serve is an awesome one so I made it through. First off lets start off with the seminar. Well, it went as expected plus a few surprises. Suprises meaning that
U of C (University of Chicago) does not require a liquid diet prior to the surgery for RNY or immediately after
. They start you off on phase 2 which is pureed foods straight out of surgery. I was kind of surprised at that. Before the seminar I had a chance to meet with a few people there, in total it was close to 20 of us there. We all talked for awhile about food and our addictions and bright new futures. The presenter was running late so this pre-talk between each other was truly helpful with getting some of the unexpected jitters out of the air. The presenter was one of the surgical nurses with U of C's bariatric program. She gave us packets with information on the three surgeries they perform, explained to us what " center for excellence" meant and explained each surgery in grave detail. She was a bit stiff but very informative. One of the ladies there had her bad ass grandson there who was making all kinds of noise, being disruptive

and borderline making u wanna slap him for his granny..LOL.. but other than that it was
very very very helpful. I am leaning towards the RNY.. the nurse explained to us what surgery would be best for which BMI, the risks, the successes and x-y-z. We all received a 7 day meal tracker for the dietician which is mandatory to bring when we meet with the staff , when I say the staff I mean the initial appointments that are a 3 in 1 (the surgeon, the dietician, and the psychologist) My appointment is 11-7 for all of this.. 11-07-07 now those are some lottery numbers for your ass..LOL anyways.. they told us to have a letter from our PCP and the diet documentation needed. I need to get on this ASAP to be prepared
. I hope and pray that I can have my surgery done by the end of the year. I just want to close out this chapter and start anew.. if that doesn't happen I hope it would be sometime in early January so that I can start afresh

.. we will see.
Moving on to my PCP check in. I gained 6 LBS

which I wasn't surprised at being that my period is out of wack and I just got off my cycle so that is nothing but water weight. My PCP is excited about my journey and that makes me
feel so good considering the horror stories I have heard from the boards and their run ins with non supporting PCP's. I go back to see her 11/20 and that is
my last visit. I am done.(long sigh) I just really got used to this whole pre-op thing. It's a bit scary to me that this is moving at the rate it is. I ain't gona lie to you guys either. I am
scared as hell about the anesthia and possible complications but more about the anesthia. I had a bad experience with being put to sleep in the past. i was told I was going to be out for 2 hours and was out for 6. I just have to have faith that this is going to go well. I have to get on my paper work trail for U of C and get some letters from my doctor as well as a statement from her regarding WLS. I will update you guys on 11-7 and tell you all about my experience. They told me already to expect to be there for 3-4 hours.
Pray For Me
