Vivek Prachand, M.D., F.A.C.S.
My first impression of Dr. Prachand was that he was extremely knowledgable. He explained everything regarding WLS going into great detail each one and helping giving me better guidance on which one would best suit me. I was not rushed and he answered all questions with no hesitation. He had a very professional understanding demeanor. The office was extremely friendly and all of my calls were returned in a timely manner. The after care program that is offered at U of C is awesome. I will post more after my surgery.rnrnMy surgery (02/12/08) was a success. I was expecting 6 lapracopic incisions and only received 3. The day of surgery was a smoothe transition. The staff alerted my family when they made the first incision and was immediate in letting them know when the surgery was complete. Dr Prachand and his staff checked on me after surgery and everyone was friendly. My follow up care thus far has been excellent and I have no complaints. I would recommend the Bariatric Clinic at U of C to anyone!!

I Got Accepted into U of C's Bariatric Program 2-day!!

YAY!!!! ,

I received the phone call at 8:22 AM today. I was extremely ecstatic. June works in Dr. Prachands office and she told me that the team at U Of C made their decision yesterday and decided to accept me in their program!!!  She told me that I needed a sleep study done (I told her that I was already on top of this and it is scheduled for this Saturday 11-17) They told me that my results for this study should be available in 3-5 business days. I have really been on top of my business guys. June (the rep from U of C) was like wow... thats good and she told me she would mail me the info..she also told me I need to go in for a birth control consult.. I told her I take Femcon. I guess they want me to know other options like IUD's. I may take that in consideration.. still don't know. So.... insurance information will be faxed over to Cigna next week right before Thanksgiving. Yay!! next week u guys.. I am still extremely nervous about the anesthesia aspect  but I am just going to have to work through my fears. Have faith that it will be alright. Oh.. I have been eating everything is sight as well.. I guess I know me and my best friend are about to be over (food)  I will talk to you guys Saturday after the sleep study.
