Vivek Prachand, M.D., F.A.C.S.
My first impression of Dr. Prachand was that he was extremely knowledgable. He explained everything regarding WLS going into great detail each one and helping giving me better guidance on which one would best suit me. I was not rushed and he answered all questions with no hesitation. He had a very professional understanding demeanor. The office was extremely friendly and all of my calls were returned in a timely manner. The after care program that is offered at U of C is awesome. I will post more after my surgery.rnrnMy surgery (02/12/08) was a success. I was expecting 6 lapracopic incisions and only received 3. The day of surgery was a smoothe transition. The staff alerted my family when they made the first incision and was immediate in letting them know when the surgery was complete. Dr Prachand and his staff checked on me after surgery and everyone was friendly. My follow up care thus far has been excellent and I have no complaints. I would recommend the Bariatric Clinic at U of C to anyone!!

Mini-Update

Hey Guys ,

I called Advocate Health ( My doctors office) they faxed over my paperwork to U of C earlier this morning. I called U of C to confirm the fax was received (still waiting on a call back) . I got a call from Cindy (sleep study) she told me the results were in and that I had a small amount of Apneas. I never heard this term before.  I have to go back in 11-30 and get fitted for a mask and go back to sleep.  I hated it. I don't want a damn mask on my face but I guess thats the price to pay the piper  I had a pneumonia shot yesterday at my PCP's appointment and my nose has been running all day. I am feeling a tad sick. Okay enough moping. No one ever said the road to the losers bench was easy.. it's gonna be okay. I am towards the last stretches of the race.
