Halfway to goal
on January 30, 2012 7:05 am
I realized today updating my weight on the tracker that I'm half way to my goal weight.  I've lose 46# since my highest weight and I really can't believe it.  I've struggled for so long with my weight even after surgery but I'm getting there.  My wish was to lost it slowly, and well that's how it's been.  I've gone up and down a few times but the steady decline has been really good and now to tighten it all up.  I need to be more consistant with going to the gym and exercising for tone my body and get lean.  I've had a lot of stresses with my partnership ending, custody battles, sick parent, etc.  And I've lost myself in the mix as I normally do.  I need to do for me now.  Goal weight...here I come!!!

2012 update
on January 6, 2012 7:20 am
Well, not only have I staying in Onederland, I've been continuing to lose and that feels great.  I even lost over the holidays.  This week alone I've dropped 4#.  I think getting on my new dose of thyroid medication has really helped.  Well this was just a quick update...back to the Friday grind

Enjoy,
Willow

One more week to the gym and livin' in Onederland
on October 7, 2011 12:30 pm
Happy Friday all,
Just got back from my lunch break walk and I got in 3 days of walking this week, one day was raining and the other was because I was helping my mom.  So I'm most likely going to take Zoe with me on Saturday to get in another walk for the week.  One more week and I can get back to the gym, I've got a 12 week cardio and weight training plan ready to go.  Total weight loss as of today is 32.2 (13 since the gall bladder surgery) and I have to honestly say, I have not felt this great in years.  I'm still without an appetite, I eat because I have to and the regulatrity hasn't fully come back yet but Dr Lee gave me some meds for that.  I'm getting in plenty of water so I'm hoping that will work it's self out soon.

My clothes are fitting better, I have much more energy, I'm sleeping better...and nothing looks so good as a '1' in front of that scale.

Have a great weekend all-
Willow

Welcome back to Onederland, I'm here to stay
on October 1, 2011 6:42 am
The scale is back to onederland as of this morning and I've decided, I'm here to stay.  I can't do this up and down 10# thing anymore.  I can't full out be exercising like I want to for another 2 weeks since my gall bladder surgery so I am going to have to settle for walking everyday to get some kind of exercise back in my routine.  So on my lunch breaks starting Monday, I'm going to start walking and then after 2 weeks, back to the gym at lunch.  I feel good about the jumpstart in weight loss again.  60# to go.

Another surgery
on September 28, 2011 7:50 am
Hi all,
Been a while since I've posted but I just had gall bladder surgery and I'm just getting life and me back to normal.  So these gas pains I've been having since I've had my lap band were my gall stones all this time.  Blood tests weren't catching it because the lipid panel would go up and down often.  What should have tipped me off a long time ago was people asking me "What are you eating that's causing it?" and I would say nothing specific.  Well it was everything I was eating that was causing it.  So,
I've dropped 10# in the past 2 weeks, jump starting my weightloss again and I'm starting to feel much better.  Got my staples out yesterday and have 2 more dr appts today and then follow ups again in a month.  They want to keep an eye on my liver functions over the next month or so.

But honestly, I haven't felt this good in a long time and I am hoping it stays this way.  I really want to turn things around for myself and get the scale moving in the right direction.  I'm eating better but my appetite is still down.  Energy level is coming back but it's slow.  But I have a lot of meds and stuff to work out of my system.  3 procedures in the hospital--2 non surgical and then the gall bladder removal, lots of morphine, other pain meds, antibiotics, etc.

Well, I hope all of you are doing well.  Enjoy your day!!!

My Story

My name is Deana and I've been struggling with my weight since high school.  It didn't get out of control until my early 20s when I met my ex-husband.  He was as skinny as a rail and could eat anything he wanted and I fell into a very bad habit...stopped going to the gym, and gained a lot of weight.  Since divorcing, I've lost and gained about 100# and I'm really ready to be rid of it and look and feel better.  I live in Southern California with my wonderful daughter.  I want to be healthy for my daughter and I want to be healthy for me. So I've begun the process with my PCP to get approved for the lap band surgery.  Went for my blood work and have a follow up visit next week.  Will keep updates on my blog on here and here's hoping that it comes thru.
