2 Week Post-Op Visit Went Well!
on March 3, 2009 7:24 pm
Today I had my 2 week post-op visit to surgeon and nutritionist. Got the go ahead to start eating a larger variety of food. I've lost 24 pounds since surgery and 34.5 since my highest weight in December. I've dropped 2 sizes in pants already. Golly gee wiz. Not too shabby.

The surgeon though, before even looking in the chart to see what I'd lost, asked me what changes I'd noticed since surgery. I told him it was easier to fasten seat belts in the cars, I could roll over and get out of bed easier and that I was wearing pants 2 sizes smaller than when I went into the hospital. He laughed and said, "that's terrific! That's what I'm interested in. I'm not going to talk to you about how much weight you've lost, because my goal is to help you become a healthy person. It's not about the number of pounds you've lost." Then he reviewed my protein and fluid intake, blood sugars etc. and checked my incessions . . . . all in all he spent about 25 minutes with me, which I appreciated very much.

I also spent a half hour with the nutritionist going over what changes I can make at this point in my diet. That visit also went very well.
