Hello, I started gaining weight after my daughter was born 25yrs. ago.  I was always skinny and tall, my nickname used to be "telephone pole" due to the fact I could stand behind one and no one could see me.  Now I weight 300 lbs. and never been so miserable I can't get up from a chair without help. I have cellulitis, venous statis and I'm a diabetic with high b/p. My sed rate is very high because of my infection in my leg's from vasculitius also. My surgery is set for August 22th I pray that when I have my pre-ops on the 10th nothing shows up that will delay my wls.  I am on predisone right now but will be off before surgery. My wls knows about my legs and says that will be no problem. I'm worried about my sed rate that it may stop the surgery if it is elevated.  I  will post more later. I had lap band instead off rny.

My Story

August 18.  I have been through a lot of hurldes (sp) since I last wrote my profile. I was ready to have my RNY and my surgeon wanted me to go for a stress test. I go for the stress test and the heart doctor found something on my test so he calls me and wants me to have a heart cath. Fine, no problem I go for my cath and end up in ICU on the vent for 3 days.  I was allergic to the dye they use for the test.  So I get better and come home, I have to go back to the heart doctor and he did not want me to have the rny. He recommended the lap band.  I guess, i will take what I can get so now I am scheduled to have lap band surgery in 4 days August 22.  I went today for a scope to make sure I had no hernia's everything went well except he said my stomach was inflammed, Unless I hear from him before Friday I am on my way to a better, healthier life.  Will post later as time permits.
