My Story

I had my LapBand done in 2007 in Northern VA.  My highest weight was 297.  I lost down to 187 and had my confidence and was prepared to continue losing.  However, I was having problems with throwing up most solid foods.  I had saline removed twice to no avail.  I rapidly started gaining my weight back.  I think in one month I gained 20 pounds!  I was eating all the wrong foods because all the good food wouldn't stay down.  I couldn't eat any meat unless it was really soft our ground up.  No vegetables but salad. I could easily eat mashed potatoes, gravy, ice cream, all the bad, but oh so good stuff!  But I ended up gaining back 50 pounds and had lost my self esteem again.  I went in to see about a revision, and they also removed all my saline.  I had a small slip of my band, so i was approved for the revision.  Within weeks, I had my revision.  The weight isn't coming off as quickly as most RNYs because I have had the initial large weight loss, so it seems I'm destined to smaller weight losses, but as long as the scale is going down, I'm happy.  I look forward to where I was before I started gaining weight, and then hopefully will continue losing even more!
