Hello everyone, I am Latrice and I am starting my journey of getting help with my gastroparesis and losing some of this weight. I have been over weight, or as some call it plumply thick my entire life. (lol) Some things have to change. I'm 34, single with no kids living in Charleston, SC. I feel that now it's time for a change.

Pre-op done
on March 7, 2012 3:30 pm
Well, I must say that pre-op went pretty well. It last for over 3 hours. All the staff were wonderful and all my questions answered. One thing is good, I don't have to do a pre-op diet. YAHHHHH!!!!! Only thing I have to do is start taking my vitamins and B12 and prepare myself mentally for surgery. March 20th will be here before I know it. Must say reality has set in... Really hoping that this will help my Gastroparesis.

Have gotten sick
on February 28, 2012 6:16 am
I haven't been feeling so hot for the past few days. The weather here in Charleston, Sc have been up and down. One day it's hot and beautiful out, then the next day its cold and raining. I see why people get sick around here. Well I ended up in the urgent care center yesterday. I have flipping acute bronchitis and was given 5 different medications. Let alone 1 wasn't covered. I was pissed because I called the insurance company to make sure that they all would be covered. I was advised by the representative they would be. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. I need the medicine. I took it yesterday and last night, it has made me sick to the stomach. Completely nauseated!!!! I have to feel better before preop on the 7th. I don't want to risk having my surgery rescheduled. I really need to get this done, so my Gastroparesis can get somewhat better.

Surgery scheduled
on February 22, 2012 5:18 am
Well, it has been almost two months since I have been on here and posted. There has been a lot going on and when your depressed or stressed you just stay to yourself. Plus too I was in the hospital for almost two weeks for dehydration, vomiting and severe abdominal pain. It was too the point that I was put on TPN feedings, since I couldn't hold anything down. What else? Hmmm, I haven't been able to exercise at all and that bothers me. That's the time that I have to myself. Hopefully that will change soon. Also instead of losing weight, I have gained... Crazy thing is that I'm barely eating. Like my doctor said, my body is in survival mode and holding on to everything. At least I only gained about 5-6 lbs. On a positive note, I have been scheduled for a partial gastrectomy, similar to the gastric bypass on March 20th. I'm happy about that, but a little leery too. I'm going to remain positive. My pre-op is scheduled for March 7th and then I will be able to ask all the questions that I want and need too. That's all for now, but will be updating soon.

Reached the halfway point
on December 29, 2011 7:41 am
I went to my 3rd weight management visit this past Tuesday. It really didn't go so hot. I gained 3lbs and barely eating. The doctor just recommended me to continue drinking my protein shakes and walking when I can. The doctor also talked to me about my er visit the previous night. I have been having severe abdominal pains and vomiting. Now I'm going both ways. NO FUN!!!! She told me that there's not much I can do, but continue going to the er and if I need to come in during the day, just call. It coming to the point soon that I will be hospitalized for my Gastroparesis. It's really no fun fighting this battle alone. Shrugs, oh well...the life I have to live. I can't wait until I'm laying on the table getting ready to start my new life.

Darkness
on December 17, 2011 12:29 pm

Just not feeling myself right now and been somewhat out of it. I have wanted to post, but no desire. I am just really disgusted that I have to continue feeling miserable and so tired of hearing the words. "sorry, there is nothing that we can do for you." The end of March beginning of April needs to hurry up and get here so I can get scheduled for surgery. This past Tuesday I went to see my primary care doctor because I was having sever abdominal pains and vomiting for days. He sent me to the emergency room to be treated. I stayed for several hours and came home. I'm still not feeling good, but at least the vomiting have slowed down and still barely eating. I have been drinking Lean Shakes from GNC and they are somewhat working, but still turns my stomach every now and then. I need some other options....
