Hi there! I'm Allison, a 33 year old single mom in the process of getting gastric bypass surgery. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes-despite losing 30 pounds in the last year. Now I am working to get that under control, and hopefully lose some weight before surgery. I currenly weigh 370, and have a family history of diabetes and heart disease. My mother is half my size, but had both legs ampuatated last year due to complications of diabetes and end stage renal disease. She is currently in a permanent vegetative state due to an accident during a dialysis treatment that has left her brain dead. Because of this, I know what my future might look like if I dont make some serious changes now.
