Sadly it's been a roller coaster ride for those in your state that have Medicaid and looking to have WLS. Call your insurance and confirm if they pay for WLS and if there are any pre-op qualifications. Also, let them know you are having issues with finding a surgeon that does take your insurance and ask if need be can you change your program. We know of 2 surgeons that take Medicaid in the state of LA. Here is the information. Please give them a call as it changes daily.
