Just wanna document

Dec 09, 2017

Today's Saturday. I had VSG Wednesday. Some of the things I have learned, and like everyone on here will tell you, everyone is different. So this is my experience so far. The preop diet is definitely helps prepare you for what is to come. I'm not far enough into this thing to say it's all been worth it cause at this point I'm thinking wth did I do to muself. So definitely number one rule should be hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I definitely didn't get the worst, but it's pretty freaking miserable right now. My butt is sore from not being able to have many different positions, even with 2 pillows under my backside. I can't get up and down by myself yet, I have to shuffle walk, holding my stomach cause the slightest movement causes pain. A small dose of mylicon baby drops for gas is nice. I have extremely bad hunger pangs. The most I can get in is about 5 ozs in an hour. If I try for the goal of 8ozs in an hour I get armpit and shoulder pain. I'm making every liquid with fairlfe milk skim for the extra protein and to try and calm the hunger pangs. Yesterday I probably had 40 ozs fluid, clear liquid, today I will reach at least 50-60ozs with about 400 calories and 45 protein. The hunger pains are pretty bad, hopefully they'll go away. When I was admitted to the hospital, I took 2 pajamas, undies, shower stuff, ha I was not that fortunate. I was in JUST the hospital gown for 3 days and 2 nights. Positive note, each day has been better than the last. I keep reading other people's posts to keep my mind off my pain and look forward to the future. Hope for the best, expect the worst so you don't have a complete shock when you're in pain. BTW coughing and sneezing is like a knife in your side.
