I'm finally approved!! Hallelujah, amen, praise God!! It's been a long road and I can't wait till the beautiful day I get to join the losers bench!! February 20th!! Wootwoot!! I started this journey this past April, I never thought it would've taken me this long to get here. Things that slowed me down were money for the appointments that my insurance didn't pay for, and my insurance denied me the first time for lack of information (proof I had quit smoking and that i was in a program with a surgeon approved by my insurance) I start my liquid diet Tuesday, I know its gonna be a hard two weeks of nothing but liquids but I'm so excited it doesn't worry me right now. I'm ready to jump into this and get on my way to a healthier, happier me! 18 days till surgery!!

I'm so down right now. I found out that I was denied, due to "lack of information for medical necessity" according to the lady I spoke with on the phone. What gets me is that my bmi alone is supposed to qualify me according to their requirements. Not only is my bmi 44.79, I have a LONG list of comorbidities including but definitely not limited to: sleep apnea, high cholesterol, gerd,  hyperglycemia, peripheral edema, hyponatremia... The list goes on. My obesity Dr's office had to resubmit the paperwork a few days after the original submission because my insurance said they didn't receive all of it, so they faxed and sent it through the portal. I just don't understand.

So... I'm super excited that I've jumped through all of the hoops FINALLY and I'm SO CLOSE to surgery!! But I'm losing my mind lol, today makes day ten of waiting on insurance approval and I'm  on pins and needles. ????  this is like when you're at the end of pregnancy and the last two or three months feels like a year! The coordinator at the Dr office i go to said it's usually within 15 days for my insurance, I hope it is. Anyone else with wellcare? Just curious about other experiences.
