Hope you're having a wonderful 2nd anniversary. I'm scheduled to see my surgeon and dietician tomorrow. I've called my insurance co. and they do cover morbid obesity with no exclusions. I've noticed on this site that some people have had to wait 3mo. and up for approval. I'm hoping I don't have to wait very long. I'm ready to start my new life. Traci, Much luck on your surgery- day.. you will do very well. This is for "YOU". I had the surgery in Nov.2000.It was the best thing I did for "myself".I saved my life.Your friends "will" come around!!! If not ---their are other friends to be made out there, like "us" on this site....I was at Northwest also, they are wonderfull people. Bless you for going ahead(L) Karen Maertz Manitowoc,Wisc.

Traci, Best wishes on your surgery I also went to BTC my Surgeon was Dr. Schlesinger. I live in Green Lake Wi. Dr. Schlesinger did a great job my scar healed very nicely. This surgery is frightening but I found it even more frightening to continue on the path I was on. I am sorry that you don't have all the support of your family and peers. They are frightened too.... they don't have the information you have....they have only heard the bad about this surgery. Have they heard the bad about an appendix operation? The risk is just as great. You are in great hands your surgeon is very skilled this is all he does. 17 weeks post and I can say this was the best thing I could have done for myself.
