Today is September 24,2001, my third day home. I am feeling stronger as each day comes. I have not been hungry yet! I struggle eating or sipping my Carnation Instant breakfast, it takes me 2 hours, and I have to eat it in phases because of its richness. I have had no pain at all.

Today is September 22, 2001. I was released from the hospital today. I would like to share with everyone that I had the best care ever! Dr. Ali and his associates were great. I had no pain. I had a surgical pain device connected directly to my incision. The Nurses and CNA's on all shifts were so attentive. I believe it was this positive enviroment that healed me so fast. Upon my release I was given the best news-ever, and that was the fact that I did not have to change the dressing on my incision. I went home took a shower and kicked back.

As of Friday, I have completed all my pre-op tests. I am surprisingly calm and looking forward to my surgery on Wednesday.Today, Monday is the last day for me to eat what I want. Tomorrow I will be on clear liquids until midnight. I am not over-eating like I thought I was going to. I would like the thank Mimi for sharing her kind words.

Hortencia, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine last November, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.

As of today, I have completed the Gallbladder Ultrasound,Chest X-rays and Upper G.I. All the pre-op tests were effortless and pain-free. The upper G.I. was the one I dreaded because of what I read on other posts. I am so relieved to report that is was not bad at all. I simply drank the fluid and followed the Dr.'s instructions on posing for the X-ray.
