Hello everyone this is me home from San Diego!!! I can't tell you what a wonderful decision I know this was and now just one week out I am down 17lbs. I can't thank my wonderful angel Lenore Q enough for calling me and watching over me for all of you. She has done a terrific job and I only hope I can do as well for her! Please mark you calendar to send her well wishes on her surgery date March 13th. Thanks to everyone who wrote and for those of you not here yet it's great on the other side!

***Angle Update*** Just talked to Raylene, and she is doing totally awesome! She had an appointment today, where they gave her her first real food, soft egg and toast. They told her not to worry if she could only eat a few bites...... she ate the whole thing, but it did take her 20 minutes! I think the fact that she is able to eat is why she feels so well. And get this...... she is 5 days out and down 14 lbs.!!! She is not experiencing any of the "what have I done" thing. Tomorrow she has her appt. with Dr. Wittgrove. Talking to Raylene and hearing how wonderful she is doing has really alleviated a lot of my fears, I just hope I do as well as her.

***Angel Update*** I spoke to Raylene today. She feeling good but gets tired very easy, especialy. She thought she was up to going into the grocery store with her freind who is taking care of her. As it turns out, she was wrong, it totally wiped her out for the rest of the day. Also, she had a good nights sleep with no pain meds. Raylene says the recliner is a absolute must and lucky for her, her hotel room had one! She goes back to the doctors on Thursday and is hoping he'll give her the okay to go home.

***Angel Update*** Raylen was released from the hospital yesterday and staying in a hotel near the doctors office. She was asleep when I called but I spoke to her freind who is staying with her. She is having broth and has had no problems with nausea. Her friend says she is doing quite well. I guess we couldn't ask for better news than that!

***ANGEL UPDATE*** I have great news! I just spoke to Raylene Bement... her surgery was Feb. 22nd with Dr. Wittgrove. It was wonderful to hear her cheerful voice and know that all went well. She had just had her staples removed and had taken a shower, so she was a little tired but said it was "a piece of cake." She also said she has been treated very well the the entire hospital staff. Raylene had a Lap surgery, so she is dealing with the pain from the gas, but even that has gotten better as she gets up and walks. She has had a little broth and is handling that well. I'm so happy for her and so relived to find her well, after not being able to reach her in the hospital for two days. She is expecting to be released from the hospital this afternoon and will be staying in a hotel near the hospital. Please go to her profile page and wish her well in her WLS journey.

Raylene, I tried to reach you through the hospital and the phone just rang and rang. I just wanted to hear your cheerful voice and know that you made it through the surgery okay.
