*Angel soaring in* Hey folks! Good news...SWEET LORRAINE IS HOME HOME HOME!!!! Her darling momma, Norma, will be taking care of her. I spoke to Lorraine yesterday while still at the hospital and she said the time-honored WLS still-in-the-hospital-mantra, "If I'd known I was going to be in this much pain...".<p>Lorraine, the worst is over. The best of the rest of your life starts NOW! I didn't call you last night because I remember how wiped out I was the first night home and I wanted you to try and sleep. Love to all,

I called several times yesterday to find out about Lorraine and was getting a little worried when she was taking so long to get to her room. I spoke with her cousin this morning who said the surgery before hers went late and that is why she didn't get into a room until 11 pm. I want to thank her angel, Lizzy, for the posts on her. It is funny but I became instantly attached to her when I read her webpage. She also called me last week (Tues) when I had my lap RNY and send me a little message. I thought it was the absolute most sweetist thing for this young girl to do that it brought tears to my eyes. I am really upset that they don't have a pump for her, especially now a days when every hospital gives a pump for major surgery. Frankly, I hope someone jumps their ass. (I'm not usually this crude, crazy yes, crude, no) but I pain management is crucial to recovery. Anyway, I do hope to talk to Lorraine when she is feeling better and I must say that I received a special gift that I wasn't expecting when I decided to have this surgery and that gift is named Lorraine. My prayers for a speedy recovery sweetie. I know you feel like shit and I thought it was harder than I expected but I have been home 5 days and feel SOOOO much better. Love Melody

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author) FROM MY HEART TO YOU~*~Hugs~*~

I just spoke with Melanie, Lorraine's cousin and I have an update. Poor sweetie doesn't have a PCA pump for her pain meds, and was quite uncomfy this morning. It took a half-hour to get a nurse to administer her pain meds and then it was another 15 minutes before they kicked in - the poor darling. :(<p>She has passed her leak test and can now have liquids (no more glycerin swabs yippee!!!). Other than that, she's doing ok. I recommended to Melanie to have Lorraine's mom get the Nursing Supervisor or the Patient Advocate at the hospital to raise some holy heck about the pain management issue.<p>Lorraine wasn't up for getting on the phone, but Melanie said she definitely smiled when she relayed my message that I vowed to get the license plate number of the truck that seems to have run her over LOL! Love to all, especially my Sweet Lorraine,

Our Sweet Lorraine has made it to the other side! I just got off the phone with her very sweet mom and Lorraine is now in recovery. Mom, her cousin and two of her best friends are there and should be able to visit her in recovery within the half hour. :)<p>Congrats, my sweet friend...you did it! Now begins the wonderful rest of your life! Hugs and smiles,

In all things Remember, that the one above loves you, that He holds us all in his loving arms,He knows each of us by name.He said anything you ask for in "my name" will be given to you.So in His name I pray for you, that you be given strength, endurance, love, peace and most of all long life.In Jesus' name. When you wake up and see the faces of your loved ones in the recovery room, know that you have made it.Thank Him,Know that you have been blessed to see and to live out the rest of your days with the ones you love and the ones who love you.....Knowing that He loves you too.
