Hi I am Janis, I live in Cashmere. I am setting up a support group for pre and post op WLS patients in the Wenatchee Valley, you would be a welcome addition if you would like to join us. I am in the process of trying to get in touch with all the WLS patients in the area. Do you know of anyone who is considering WLS or is Post Op who might be interested in a local support group? I envision in addition to the moral support and encouragement the opportunity to sample all the bariatric food and supplement products at the group meetings. My sisters biggest post op complaint was finding palatable high protein supplements and vitamins that were actually effective. I also envision the opportunity to compare notes on Doctors who are not only educated in caring for bariatric patients in the long term but also who truly understand what we endure as morbidly obese persons, the prejudice, the mis-conceptions, the ignorance. And who are supportive of bariatric surgery for those people who really do need it. I would like to be able to direct prospective WLS patients to Doctors, Psychologists, Nutritionists, etc who are knowledgeable, skilled, empathetic and supportive of our needs in our quest for healthier bodies and happier lives. Our first meeting, very informal and casual, is this Sunday! I look forward to hearing from you. Janis HaydenJanis 18 years, 8 months ago
