ANNIE~~ HOPE THAT YOU'RE FEELING BETTER NOW ~~ May you always have an Angel by your side. Watching out for you in all the things you do. Reminding you to keep believing in brighter days. Finding ways for your wishes and dreams to come true. Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun. Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide. May you always have love and comfort and courage

Annie, I was so glad to hear that you are coming along. Thank goodness your doc is working with you on the extended pain issue. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay positive girl - this will all be worth it...(that's what I keep telling myself too!). Warmly ~ Jan

Annie worked with her doctor this afternoon and they discovered she was under medicated, not over medicated or suffering from withdrawal. They switched her pain medications for her, which gave her great relief (she thought she would be out of pain meds tomorrow). If the pain is not more tolerable in the next few days, they have additional strategies at their disposal. The tone of her message on my machine was encouraging -- sounded like pre-op Annie. Please say your prayers for her and continue to post here. I will encourage her to check her comments section as soon as she can. God Bless!

Hi Annie, I had no idea that you were having problems. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait until you feel well enough for us to finally get together. Take care of yourself...and God bless. Hugs - Marianne

Annie has still not been up to getting "on-line" yet, but I talked to her this afternoon. She is addressing her pain issues with her doctors right now. She is 3 1/2 weeks out and wants to make sure that her pain medication dosage is consistent with expectations. She is still in a lot of pain and unable to sleep in her bed. Hopefully, once she talks to her doctor this afternoon, things will improve.

Hey girly girl - How the heck are you doing? I don't have your home number to check on you, but I've been thinking about you - How about posting an update so we know you are still kicking. We'd love to hear from you!

Hello Annie~~~As a survivor of eight prior surgeries I can tell you everyday gets better. I am pre~op for my WLS should be this month yet but I have had my gallbladded out the old way, no laser back then! Hang in there, Sweetie. You'll do fine. Walk, walk, walk, it really makes a difference. God be with you. PEACE

Annie-Please continue to hang in there. I know the first couple of weeks are really rough. I had some terrible crying spells, but I think it is a mourning period just like a human loss in our life. You will get through this and you will soon be so happy you had this done. I can truly say I would do this over again and I'm even thinking again about plastic surgery after my 18 months or so are up. I sure didn't ever want to face a surgeons knife again those first couple of weeks. It does get better.

Annie, Hi girl! I've been thinking about you so very much. Tonight I finally looked at your surgery page and was shocked to hear you were having such a rough time! Thank God for your boyfriend and family and special angel Karen who is giving great updates. I am with you sister. My surgery was at AGH on 8/9 too as planned. It was rough, but not as rough as yours sounds. I am getting stronger everyday and YOU WILL TOO. I am NOT very happy with the AGH staff. I thought the nurse's were very lazy. The aide's: poorly paid and with all the crap work were actually more professional. I will keep checking back for updates. Hang in there kids. Love Ya. Jan

Today is the first day that Annie has been able to talk. Between the pain and breathing and nausea, talking is sometimes very unpleasant post-op. She came home from the hospital Thursday and had a death in the family on Friday. She is in a lot of pain right now. Those of you post-op know how unpleasant the first few weeks are, but how rewarding it is once they are past. Those of you pre-op, don't assume you can imagine how unpleasant the first few weeks post can be, just commit yourselves to maintaining a little humor, being pleasant to those helping you, prayer, and focus on getting through it. Finally, PLEASE continue to post Annie messages here. They are helpful and encouraging - whether you are pre-op or post-op - and reinforce the idea that the "other side" is better. Thank you!
