Hello all....it's been one week since my surgery and I'm feeling great. I can't believe one week ago today I was trying to breathe and getting up for the first time and walking. Boy, that was fun. I do have to say though, walking is the best thing in the world for recovery. I started on full liquids today and thank goodness for protein shakes. They never tasted so good. It still amazes me that I did it, that drinking a small amount fills me up. I have had thoughts about food....dreams of pizza actually, but it goes away because I know I can't. While in the hospital I actually had a dream about pizza. Then I woke up and realized I was in the hospital. How sad huh? LOL. Anyway, I have to recomend BTC to anyone and every one who is considering having this surgery. I went through this with my dad and his surgeon did a good job but after, the lack of care and guidence is lacking so much. I am just thrilled with BTC, Dr. Boe and the staff at the hospital. It was an amazing experience. So, I'm doing great and I am so surpirsed that things have gone so fast. Thank you again to everyone for all the good wishes and comments, they were taken to heart and appreciated more than you know. Jennifer

8-30-01: Way to go, Jennifer! We both did so terrific, eh? I know you're going to do great as those pounds just shed off of you like winter coats in the springtime. You're an awesome friend, and Dr. Boe is a blast! Your new life has just begun. -Linda

Well, I just got home from being with Jen and her surgery went very well. We joked and laughed with the surgeon before hand and he's a doll. She went in around 8:45 and was back up in the room at almost 11:00 and that was after the hour of recovery. She stated that her incision is only 4inches long, and the it's not as bad as she thought it was going to be. I will be going back to see her tomorrow, I will come back and keep you all posted.
