I had my 1-month post-op appointment with Dr. Mitchell today--37.5 pounds gone! I was very pleased. I know I will slow down but I feel great about my start. I added fish to my food list this week and things are going well. Some days are better than others but I feel better this week than I have since surgery. It is true that you do start to feel better and more like yourself as time goes by. Best wishes to my angel, Angela Davis who has had a difficult few weeks.

I am two weeks post-op. Physically I am doing well. Mentally, I have my good days and my bad days. I have never done anything so hard in my life! I miss eating! I am following my doctor's guidelines and every day is better. I started soft foods on Sunday. Yesterday (Monday) I ate some mashed potatoes. I must have eaten too much because I suffered tremendous stomach pains. I am fine today and had cottage cheese earlier with no problems. I told my doctor at my first follow-up appointment that I missed eating. He asked if I would do my surgery again. Without hesitation I said "Yes". I knew this was not going to be easy. Relearning a lifetime of eating habits is hard. I know it is and will be worth it!

Susan is home and doing very good! She came home yesterday and with the exception of a headache is doing wonderful. She is tolerating skim milk and apple juice. She sounds in good spirits. Thanks to everyone who took the time to wish her well. Go Susan, Go Susan!!!!! You're on your way now!

Hello, just got a call from Susan's husband, Joe, and she is doing SUPER GOOD!!! She got in her room around noon and and hour and a half later she is up. Having the usual gas and burping but doing real well. He said she's only had to "mash the button" once. How wonderful can that be? Thanks to everyone that said prayers and sent support her way. Will report more tomorrow, after I visit. Keep praying!!! Love ya Susan and can't wait for you to come home so we can get together for some lunch. (Boost's and soup broth)!!!
