Carol, don't give up. The journey has just begun. I lost for the first 3 weeks, then none for the next 3 weeks. This past week I have lost 8 lbs. When you hit a plateau just hang on and continue to do what you are supposed to do and you will see results later on. You are doing great. Janice

Hi Carol, I read your post. Try to eat only your high protein meats and don't eat no carbs for a few days. Hey! Congrats on your new grandchild. What a blessing. **Hugs**

Hi Carol :) Rg your plateau so early out, this is what happened to me too - lost 23 lbs the first 2 weeks and then a mere 3 lbs over the next 3 weeks. It was very discouraging to say the least. What I found worked for me was cutting down on the carbohydrates and also not drinking/eating anything with aspartame in it. Hope this helps and wishing you lots of success! :) Caroline

Angel flying in for the last hospital update.
Carol is going home today, sans leak test. (Hospital is no longer doing them. Thay apparently have not done for the last 30-40 proceedures. They know the signs of leaks and only do when suspected.) Gas is passing, but still around. Pain meds are helping. Now she has the ride home today. Things are looking good.

Talked with Carol this evening</H> She reports that the same truck that ran over me ran over her. She is off the "happy button" and on a nasty tasting liquid pain med. Lots of gas build up and she would like to just "blow it all out." She has been up and walking.
She was given ice water almost immediately after getting to her room and has been sipping her Promote all day. (Unless protocol has changed, something is missing - like the leak test.) She is going to talk with nurse when she comes in to check on pain to see if something was overlooked in orders, etc. Unfortunately her surgeon left for DC and a meeting with the Prez. Hey Carol, guess it is fair play. The Prez came to the hospital while I was there in January!
Hang in there, the gas will pass!
