Sunie, hang in there My boss did the same to me made me wait 6 mos before granting leave and I was only 2 days away from the approval expiration date,and even though I may have made him mad at me forever I had Dr's saying it was med needed and I fought tooth and nail and never gave up. If you dont get the answers you need keep looking and never give up ! we have to walk in our own shoes not our bosses!!!! Hang in there, God Bless

Hello Sunie, I to have CIGNA(pos) but Im in WA. I have been denied 2x already. I completely feel your frustration and know it all to well. I think you're right, they would rather see us die.I know they want us to give up. Sounds like your a fighter, so I hope you keep up the fighting. I know there is no chance in hell that I'm giving up. I don't see how legally they can deny you any more appeals because you hire a lawyer. From my understanding you can go to your state medical commition and they can over turn the insurance decition. I havent gotten that far yet, but if I'm denied again thats my next plan of action. My thoughts and prayers are with you that this will work out for you(well us both). Warmest wishes to you.****Amanda

Sunie dont give up.. if your state has an insurance comission that oversees the insurance practices, then write them to grieve the decision.. they required me to do the same thing and I couldnt even do more than walk a little.. get letters from everyone that you know that will write one for you, send them and the insurance company every medical record that pertains to your benefit from wls.. keep on fighting dont give up.. get mad instead... nothing will ever change until you get over being hurt and start fighting for your right to a life... let me know what happens.. if your insurnace doesnt have a direct exclusion and it doesnt sound like it does then you go girl.. get in their face and make yourself heard...My prayers are with you and will continue to be with you..

I also have been turned down by Cigna PPO. And the biggest problem for me is the 26 weeks supervised weight loss. PLEASE.... Someone on here told me if your Cigna plan is self insured by where you work, you can appeal thru your employer. They have the right to overturn Cigna's decision. Now don't give up! You can get thru this. You are already in an exercise program, curves -- they can be your exercise person whatever that is. Records for five years you can get them from your regular doctor or gynecologist. And you can be evaluated by your regular physician. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HANG IN THERE -- I'm fighting Cigna with everything I've got and we are going to win for all the other Cigna folks out there. I will fight this and they will change their criteria!

Hey Sunie so sorry to hear about getting turned down. Don't give up please our lives are to important for us to give up. Listen when I was reading your profile you said something about an exercise person? Well wouldn't CURVES count as that? I would think so. I will say a prayer for you that all works out. DON"T GIVE UP!!!! I am still going for test and my Dr hasn't even turned in the paper work yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed for me and everyone else on this Great Site. Hang in there.
