I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.**Hugs**

Tuesday, June 3, 2002 Hello, everyone. I wanted to let you know that I am out of the hospital. First, I am really sore, so I wanted to thank all of you who sent such kind words to me while I was in the hospital. I will try and thank you all personally in another week or so. Surgery went well. Hospital stay was the worst. I am not impressed with Shawnee Mission Medical Center. I had to catch up on pain medication 3 times. 2 times the radiology staff, bumped and banged my bed into the wall and smashed it into the elevator after surgery which caused excruciating pain. C-T Scan people wanted me to lift my own legs after surgery because DR. was concerned because my heart rate and pulse were abnormal. Had over 37 diabetes finger pricks even though I AM NOT DIABETIC, nor did my Dr. order them. Bed was changed only once, which was the day after surgery (Got out on Friday), Hospital wanted me to stay over the weekend and I felt that my safety had been jeopordized. I refused. Friday morning about 6:50 am my left hand the one with an I-V in had swelled over 3 times the normal hand size. My hand was in extreme pain. I tried to paige my nurse over 10 times with their little call button, after 25 minutes no one still had not come. I had to call my husband at home, and ask him to contact the hospital to send a nurse into my room. Mark, the supervisor finally came after 45 minutes of waiting in extreme pain. He told me that if he hadn't come then, within a few more minutes my veins in my left arm would have burst because the I-V went bad and was supposed to be changed every 3 days. The list of problems continues for that hospital. I will be letting my Dr. know of all of my complaints. My husband will be contacting the head of the hospital to find out what they are planning on doing to help rectify the situation. Anyway, tomorrow I go see Dr. Hoehn and get the drainage tube and staples removed. Feeling a little better each day. Had 3 bites of a scrambled egg for breakfast today and broth and jello the rest. Well I am getting tired again. Hopefully I will post again tomorrow. Thank you all again for all of your kind words of encouragement. Have a wonderful night.
