2018 - On this journey I have taken it has been turbulent, exciting, emotional and life changing. In 2002 (November) I weighed 265+ and I was married and he didn't like when I lost the weight (-125lbs) - so he is gone. I dated (alot) and dated someone for a period of 8 yrs never wanted to marry. During the 8 years I had gained some of my weight back and tipped the scales again in to the 200's. I went on the HCG diet and lost my pounds and quickly. Lost it just in time for my middle daughters wedding. I continued to lose the weight and I was feeling awesome. I decided to take a job cross country - with confidence in hand I moved to a state I knew nothing about, knew no one and figure this was my time. Within 10 months - I had met a man, fell in love and married! Funny how we both said 'never going to get married again- especially at our age'. BINGO!!
Within 5+ years I was tipping the scales again 200 - I needed knee replacement and I thought this isn't what I want! I found this physician that has a practice that's all about natural hormones and holistic type medicine - BeBalanced. Similar to HCG; BeBalanced has more variety of fruits and veggies you can eat - but it is low calorie eating for 28 days (you can do anything for 28 days - especially with the results you get). 1st round I lost 23 lbs in the 28 days - kept it off with eating more protein and fats for 10 days - and now I am in my 2nd round and lost 4.4lbs in 3 days and I fit in my size 10/12's again!!!
This journey is a rollar coaster but the key is recognizing an issue is when the tool we have been given (RNY) is being outsmarted by your own mind...it's then time to take back the control.
My middle daughter had gained a considerable amount of weight and when her dad died young from being severly overweight, diabetes and heart issues. She too decided it was time for to take control as she had a double hit with both parents having weight issues - she had her RNY - she looks amazing. When we were together recently- I said to her 'remember this is only a tool and you need to exercise all the knowledge you have to make sure you use that tool and the knowledge to remember where you came from and how you got where you are today'.
I haven't been on this site in many years - but now that I'm 15+ years out - and have had my ups/downs - I would like to help those that are considering and struggling with their decision to have this amazing and life changing operation! Blessings on you as you embark on the journey!!
