It's been 2 1/2 months and I've lost 41 pounds. I've gone from a size 20 down to a 14-16. I still have weight to lose, but I already feel so much better and I love this new me. I can eat about 4-5 ounces now, and I can eat anything. I've only gotten sick on chicken and fresh green beans. Each time was when I didn't chew long enough and it must have plugged my stomach. It took hours to work its way through. I wish I could just throw up, but that's not easily done for me. Anyway, it's so well worth it! I am really pleased with the results of the surgery.

It's been a month now. I've lost 24 pounds. I feel great. I forget I had the surgery until I go to eat and have to remember to only eat a little. If I also remember to eat slow, it helps, because my stomach will feel full. I've been so fortunate. I haven't had any complications and I seem to be healing quickly. I'm back to all my pre-surgery activities. If I eat too much, I get a very, very, sore stomach. But I don't throw up. I sometimes wish I could! I haven't had any trouble with any type of food. I seem to tolerate sugar without dumping, although I haven't had much. I had one bite of birthday cake with no problems. Mostly I eat what everyone else eats, only I can only have a few bites. It's pretty easy to stay on track. Good luck to everyone planning to have the surgery. I hope you have the same success I'm having.

9/6/02 Two weeks and I've lost 15 pounds. I feel fine, though I'm still a little sore. There is improvement every day, so it's a pretty tolerable recovery. While I complain about soreness and smelling food that I can't eat, I have had no second thoughts or regrets over having this surgery. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me and for all the good wishes.

I'm five days post-op and healing. I was very sore in the hospital and I'm still sore now. I wasn't expecting to be this sore. However, I am better today than yesterday and up walking around here complaining about it, so I must be doing well! I am sick of jello already and I'm going to look for some good advice on this website for "liquid diet" food. Thanks to all of you who have posted comments or sent me email. I don't have a WLS support group other than this website right now and it helps me with the ups and downs.
