Thank you so much for replying to my earlier post. What you said about our pets being so important to us because they love us no matter what our size in a world where we are judged on a daily basis is exactly right. I have three cats, a Rottweiler, and my mom's guinea pig, Baby. They all make me feel like I'm special, regardless of how much I weigh. Whenever I'm feeling depressed, or when I'm sick, they will lay on me or beside me and try to make me feel better. In a world that makes me feel like I don't even deserve to live, my animals help me make it through. I was so sorry to hear about your cat, especially at such a vulnerable time in your life. I'm sure you still miss it. Non-animal people just don't understand what animals can mean to us. Anyway, thank you for comiserating with me, and for letting me talk. I really do appreciate it. God bless you, and congratulations on your weight loss so far. Keep up the good work.

How nice it is to be on the other side! My surgery was Monday 10/07/02 and I came home late Saturday afternoon. I went in as a LAP but my surgeon switched to open so I have both the incision and trocar holes. I'm very pleased with how this surgery went, and with how well I'm doing now. I feel better each day and very at peace with my decision to have this operation! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :-) Thank you to everyone who sent the well-wishes and prayers, and to Amy Watkins who kept in touch with my sister so she could update my surgery page. I'll write a more detailed account of the experience on my profile page when I have more energy. For now, I can't thank God enough for the wonderful blessing of this surgery and the new life I am beginning!

Phyllis is doing good, I just called the hospital and spoke with her sister Nell, and also with Phyllis. She had a bad night the other night, with pain, but she seems to be doing much better now. No word yet on when she will be discharged. I'm so happy all is going well with Phyllis.

Oct. 7, 6:50pm I just spoke with Phyllis's sister, she's at the hospital with Phyllis. The surgery went well, it was suppose to be Lap, but they ended up opening her up. Shes doing good and she was asleep. There not going to get her out of bed until tomorrow, since she didn't get to her room till later in the day today. I'm just so glad that all went well. I'll be going to visit her tomorrow night, I will post again after the visit.
