Well, what do you know? Barbara has gone home from the hospital and apparently is doing very well. I did not have a chance to stop in and visit with her again before she was discharged but if how she was feeling on Saturday is any indication, she probably flew home on Cloud 9, she was so happy and doing so well. Congratulations, Barbara, on a job well done. Please keep in touch and let us know of all the glorious statistics and changes. PS-let's get together when you come to town for you post op visits.

ANGEL REPORT #1 BARBARA MESSANA Well, Praise the Lord!!! (Is there anyone else to really give the praise to?) Barbara had surgery on May 1st and has come through with flying colors!!! When I got to the hospital she was sitting up in a chair and waiting for the doctor to come and allow food. The doctor did come shortly after and ordered a soft diet for lunch and Barbara is eager to try it all out!! She looks wonderful and was sharing some of her experiences about life as an obese person. Could have been listening to myself. Anyone relate to that? Barbara has a very positive outlook and was a pleasure to meet and get to know. That's the thing with this site, we all meet people on the internet but some of us are just lucky to meet face to face. Barbara and I talked for quite a while, walked the hallways together, and then when her lunch came, dined in style (hospital style, that is!!) She may go home on Monday and she will be glad to see her son and other family. She has not been able to have anyone stay with her or visit due to distance of the hospital from her home. That's where being an angel really is a blessing. I highly recommend putting on thoses wings, you'll be flying high after a visit to someone in the hospital. Please join me in extending warm wishes and support to Barbara. What a lovely, authentic person she is and I'm so happy to report such good news. Will visit her again tomorrow as I make my own hospital Angel rounds.
