It's been approximately 3 months, I'm down 47 pounds. I'm completely over the nausea and vomiting now, Ativan did the trick, and I have since weaned off of it.

Today is 5 weeks, spent the weekend in the hospital, went to the ER on Friday, for vomiting (really dry heaves) was dehydrated, so had to stay. Had an endoscopy on Saturday, everything looked good, so more fluids and a change of anti-nausea drugs and acid blockers, went home on Monday, but still feeling pukey. Thanks for all the suggestions I've received.

I'll be 4 weeks post op tomorrow. I'm down 28 pounds, but really feeling like I've earned each ounce! Been very nauseated, dry heaving many times a day. I talked to the dr on Monday, he prescribed compazine, but I'm not getting much food in at all. Probably 4 ounces for the entire day. Trying to get some fluids in, but not being very successful at that either. Anyone with suggestions, I would welcome them...

Dear Robin, i have been very concerned about my medicine. I use effexor with 3 pills of 75 mg. each. How will I get them down? I don't want to cold turkey get off. Please put an answer on my surgery page. Thanks and Love, Gena

For those of you on anti-depressants, be careful with your post op routine. I got extremely lazy about my meds, and am now paying the price for it! Remember that post-op is probably one of the times you will need those drugs the most!

It's been a week now, feeling much better. Some advice...have someone spend the night at the hospital the first night! I am a very independent person, didn't want anyone there, but was so groggy from the surgery, I wasn't pushing my pump enough, causing me to suffer unbelievable pain, high blood pressure, and extremely high heart rate. The nurses were just about useless, I was appalled, except for med times, I didn't see them, what has become of the nursing field! Anyway, that's my one big tip...have someone stay with you that first night! Best of luck everyone!

Well, I'm home. Had some kinda strange complications, but made it through. I'm down 10 pounds, in 5 days, but really feeling it right now. Don't have much energy, and not much desire to eat at all. Sorry for the negative comments, I'm sure I'll be back on in a couple of days to update with a little more of a positive attitude.

Hey Robin, Good luck, and congratulations on your transformation today. I'm going to Dr. Mitchell's seminar tonight at Forest Park hospital, so I'll make sure to ask him how you're doing. :) Take Care, Liz
