I had my surgery on Wednesday, Feb. 5. I came home from the hospital on Saturday, Feb. 8. My surgery went well. My doctor said it I hadn't already been asleep when he found out, he wouldn't have done my surgery because I had gained 11 pounds beforehand. I didn't know that we were supposed to watch it before hand. But all went well. Saturday, I was having a lot of pain and the chills. I think maybe a slight "dumping syndrome" I might have eaten some jello too fast. Now I'm coughing and trust me, it doesn't feel very good. I go back to see the surgeon on Thursday and hope to start on a little solid food next week. I'm up and about and getting on the treadmill. I hope to go to a support meeting soon. I have a friend that is going to take me. I just want everyone to know that this is the best thing I've ever had done. I do not regret a thing. My hospital stay was great. The staff at Scripps Mercy are some amazing people. They're very, very caring and attentive. Best wishes to all of you and hang in there. It's SOOOOOOOO worth it!!!!!!!

Hi Susan, My am Vearl Dickson. I live in Alta Loma and we share a surgery date. I will be at Parkview in Riverside. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. I attend a wonderful support group that meets the last Tuesday of each month at Riverside Community Hospital. It is open to the public. We also have one at Parkview Hospital in Rivierside the first tuesday of each month. Both are open to the public. Best of luck and stay positive. You are in my prayers. Vearl
