Yes...it is me. Just thought I'd say a couple works. Well, it's been 9 months and 87 1/2 pounds later and I feel GREAT!! I celebrated my 35 birthday last friday!!! I had dinner with my family wearing a size medium suede shirt and size 10 LEATHER PANTS!!! YES!! I have tons of clothes that no longer fit, I will be sure to post them on the clothing exchange site. I just wanted to let everyone know that is thinking about having WLS.....GO FOR IT....the only thing I regret is not having it 10 years ago! Happy Holidays to all

Wow!!! I know it has been ages since I posted anything....sorry. I am down about 65lbs!! I have gone from a size 18/20 to a size 12 petite. I just can't believe how different I feel. After 4 long years, I decided to leave the company that I was working for....after 2 TERRIFIC months off, I started a great new job that I LOVE!

Wow, I know it has been a while since I wrote anything. I have been so busy with going back to work and all. Well, I am feeling really good. I weighed in on Tuesday 04/18/00 and I was down 23lbs!! I am able to wear close that were too light just a month ago. My co-workers haven't said anything about my weight loss, because I am not sure if they really notice. They just say, "Boy, you look great!" How cool is that to lose 23lbs in less than a month. My goals for next month are 1) Walk at least 2 miles per day 2) Take all my vitamins 3) Get in more protein 4) Update my jounal more frequently. Take care all!

I am felling better everyday. Although I am able to pass gas I still haven't gone #2 since I've been home and that could be causing some of the discomfort. I am going to call Dr. Anez' office today and see if I can take a laxative or something. Eating has been ok...my mom has been doing a great job preparing all of my meals. The cravings aren't gone yet...and that worries me a bit...but I haven't deviated yet. I seriously taking this one day at a time.

Thank you Robin for your letter explaining what you went through before and after your WLS. That really helps me to feel better about having the same procedure. I know what to expect now. Good luck on your journey to the new you.

I made it!! I am offically POST-OP! Surgery Day- I arrived at the hospital at 9:00am, my boyfriend Thomas took me. I registered and waited in the pre-op area. A few minutes later my mother, father and sister arrived. We all waited for about 30 minutes and then I was called back to the pre-op area. There I was told to take everything off including jewlery and put on a hosital gown, hair net, white support hose and booties. A nice technican started my IV, put my hopital bracelet on. My family was permitted to come back at that time, you are only allowed 2 visitors at a time, however they let everyone come back if they promised to be good. The anestheologist(sp?) came by and explained that in a few minitues I would be given a "cocktail" through my IV to relax me. He also told me what to expect when I woke up. Then Dr. Anez came by in his scrubs, he told me not to worry that everything would be fine, he asked if I had any last minute questions. Thomas took my picture with him. I have given my cocktail and was told that it was "time", it all happened so fast, I thought I would be waiting alot longer. I gave everyone a hug and kiss. My sister was very emotional, I knew she was worried. I told her that everything would be ok. The next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery area in ALOT of pain. My first words were, " I woke up". The nurse showed me how to use the PCA for pain control. I think it just knocked me out. I vaguely remember being wheeled to my room. I was told that I was able to go to the bathroom and walk a little bit. DAY 2- I was feeling a little better. I was glad to have the NG tube out! I starting waking with my next door neighbor Denise who had surgery on the same day. We would go by and pick up Robert, Basil and Daphne. Sometimes the guys didn't want to go walking so it was just Daphne, Denise and me...the nurses were calling us the Gastro Girls. I would like to thank Barbara, Robert's wife, she was so nice and would walk with us if Robert wasn't quite up to it. Each meal consisted of broth with protein added, low cal juice and orange jello with protein added (way, too sweet) DAY 3- The IV came out, Dr . Anez came by and took off the bandage over my incision and I was permitted to take a shower! It was wonderful! I was given percocet to relieve the pain. I was a bit sad when Daphne and Robert went home, getting in and out of bed was much easier. DAY 4- I still hadn't gone #2 or passed any gas and was in alot of pain because of it. I was given a FLEET enema, which allowed me to go a little but the gas was still bothering me. Dr. Anez came by and signed my discharge papers, Thomas came to pick me up and brought me to my parent's house. I was in alot of pain due to gas. DAY 5- I was able to pass alot of gas today and I feel 100% better. I am able to get in and out of bed and chairs on my own. I will start working on my webiste tomorrow!! Thanks to entire 3rd floor staff of Fair Oaks hopital, I see why you were named one of the top 100 hopitals in the Nation!
