Hi, all,

I had my surgery back in Oct 2015 and at peak loss had lost 129lbs. I've gained about 25lbs back since then, and I'd like to lose it again before my wedding day this August. I'm thinking about grabbing some Optifast, since I

Hi, guys! I'm having an issue and I'm not sure how to handle it, so I'm hoping someone else here has had the same issue and give me some advice. I'm about 20 months out from my RNY in October 2015.

About three or four weeks ago, I w

Hi, everyone!  I had my surgery in October 2015, and I'm wondering how much food I should be able to eat at once (in, say, a half hour) at this point.  I was startled yesterday to find I could eat an entire sandwich (a 4" panini sort of thing) over the

Hi, friends!  I just wanted to pop in for a one year update.

I started Optifast on October 9, 2015, and weighed in at 261lbs.  My surgery was on October 23, 2015, and at that time I was 146lbs.  Now, on October 23, 2016, I weigh 141lb

Hi, guys!  Long time no chat.

I had my surgery in October of 2015 and since then I'm down 117lbs.  It's great.  I have a little bit of loose skin that I'm hoping to tone up at the gym, but other than that I have no complaints!

Hey, everyone.

So I'm about 4.5 months out, and almost since I had surgery (maybe starting a month afterward?) I feel sick to my stomach every time I need to poop.  I'll sit on the toilet feeling like I'm too warm and going to throw up.  I woul

Hi, everyone.

So I'm just about three months out, and I think the three month stall has hit.  Over the last week, I've only lost 0.2 lbs.  Which is fine, I know this is normal, so I'm not that concerned.  I'll just have to step up my

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

I've recently discovered portion control plates.  I don't have one, but I think one for bariatric/RNY patients would help me a lot.  Has anyone in Ontario found one or made one that's designed with post-su

Hi, guys.  Just wondering if anyone else has tried Boost High Protein shakes?  My mom picked some up for me when she was out grocery shopping, but it seems like the calories and carbs are kind of high?  It does have the 15g of protein though.  Thoughts

Hey, everyone.

Just a quick question—has anyone successfully moved up to the pureed stage a little early? I'm a week and one day out from surgery and the liquid-only diet is killing me after two weeks of Optifast and five days of Jello-and-j

Oh dear, well... That is good to know. Hopefully my pipes work. I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious!

I was in the hospital longer because I couldn't pee! I'll write a journal about it once I'm home tomorrow, but the short of it is that post-operative urinary retention is a not-uncommon side effect of general anesthesia, as well as oxycodone, which was the pain killer they give after surgery day. Dr. Penner said it's rare in women, especially ones my age (27) and who don't have urinary issues before surgery. Guess I just got lucky!

Thank you for your supportive message. I hope you get to come home tomorrow! Why were you in for more than 2 days? Feel free to tell me it's none of my business, just wondering if there is something common that could cause a delay. I heard sleep apnea could be an issue. I'm hoping mine behaves. : ) My surgery is Nov 6!!

Your surgery at TWH must be coming up soon! Mine was on the 23rd, and they're discharging me tomorrow with any luck. Most of the nurses are very nice, and you'll be happy to know that my surgery went off without a hitch. Good luck!

Hi, everyone. My surgery was yesterday and everything went well. My pain hasn't been too bad, but I haven't been able to pee since surgery. They've catheterized me twice and they say they won't let me out until I can pee on my own. Any advice on makin

Hi, everyone! Quick question. My surgery is on Friday, and when I was there for my pre-op, they told me not to take Advil the week of the surgery, and I think they told me one more thing about medications in the days leading up to surgery, but I can'

Hi, guys. Just wondering if anyone else was having problems with the tickers. I'm trying to create one and it's just not working for me, I assume because the preview function isn't working. It won't generate a preview of a ticker, and therefore won'

All the best to you on your RNY surgery. I had RNY too in 2001 and it was one of the best decisions of my life.

Hi, everyone.

It has been four days since I've had anything but Opti, broth, and sugar free Jello and all I can't think about now is a Big Mac. Please send help.

Hi, everyone.

I'm excited to say that tomorrow is my pre-op appointment at TWH and also the day I start my two weeks on Optifast.

I have a question. I live two and a half hours out from TWH, and since my appointment is at 11am, I expec
