Just some quick information about me! I am currently 24 years old and I am a Music Teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Waterbury, CT. I love my job and feel like I can actually make a difference in some students' lives who really need someone to support them. I have been overweight my whole life. I had finally put all the teasing out of my head while I was in college. I'm sure people said things about my weight, but I didn't hear it. I became more aware of how uncomfortable with my weight when I started teaching this year. It's tough being in front of a bunch of kids who are so brutally honest. I had a kindergartener tell me "You're fat" during the second week of school. I know he didn't know what he was talking about but geesh that was tough to hear.
I have an amazing husband. He and I have discussed the option of my Weight Loss Surgery, and worked on diets together to try all the other options first. To make a long story short, he's been to every appointment with me and has been as supportive as he could possibly be. I couldn't ask for a better husband!
