Bandless and ready for next step (almost)

Mar 23, 2016

I'm bandless as of yesterday morning. My doctor told me I'd be sore where my port was but the other incisions would be less sore.....well, as I'm never one to be "normal," my port area is a little tender, but not particularly bad...........however, the incision on my side is a real killer. Have been getting in as much fluid as I can, walking around as much as possible and doing my breathing thing with that gizmo they gave me in the hospital. I'm following "orders" as much as I can. I was absolutely miserable yesterday when I came out of surgery - combination of my usual bad reaction to general anesthesia and pain meds. Felt better after a few hours and my friend said it's been a long time since she's seen anyone as greenish-yellow as I was when she first saw me.....thankfully I got some normal color back in my face pretty quickly.

How was the pain after the sleeve surgery? I'm aprehensive about that (not enough to make me change my mind) in regard to after surgery pain. I know I'll be miserable again afterwards because I'm always that way after having general anesthesia and pain meds, but I'm just trying to prepare myself for pain levels after all that other junk wears off. I'd know what to expect, even if it's really uncomfortable. There are certain surprises I don't like....and one is unexpected levels of pain.

Revision scheduled for June 6...............I'm ready....I think.....LOL
