Who knew it would be this tough

May 12, 2016

It has been almost 5 months since I gave birth to our beautiful daughter. However I couldn't have predicted in a million years the roller coaster ride the end of my pregnancy and delivery had in store. I won't rehash all the details but let's just say that I went into preterm labor December 6th of last year and was put on hospital bed rest. Our daughter was born 3 weeks later at 34 weeks. She developed an infection in her intestines and shortly after that had to have surgery to remove two blockages in her colon and she developed an infection in her blood while in the hospital and had to have a transfusion. We were in the hospital from Dec 6 until February 22. I am so thankful that she is doing fantastic and has made a full recovery. However, the stress of it all and adjusting to it all has caused me to eat like crazy. I turned to the salty carbs initially to help with the nausea but now I can't seem to shake it. I am really getting frustrated with myself because I am up about 31 lbs. since pregnancy and my goal I hit prior to. I initally lost about 10 lbs but have since gained those back. I know I need to get back to the basics but I didn't realize it woul be this tough.
