Will protein bars do? He has lost 50+ #'s will see the doctor again the 5th of Dec. Thanks for all your prayers...:))

*****UPDATE******* Rafael still isn't doing to good. Cannot keep nothing down, water is the only thing he can keep down. He is still throwing up everything and anything that has taste. Dr. will be doing some type of procedure tomorrow at Mercy Hospital. I hope and pray that this will fix the problem. He has already lost 50+ pounds surgery was 10/17/02. Keep him in your prayers. Thank you.

Dear Rafael: Oh please go back to that surgeon and demand he look into this problem. 1 month post-op I started having pain and spitting/throwing up white foaming stuff---I had two adhesional obstructions and required emergency surgery to save my life. Please take this as serious, and that your body is trying to tell you something! If he (surgeon) won't help you, find a doctor that will! Anything unusual, means something could be seriously wrong, you must take care of you! Please keep us updated! Sincerely, Lori Ann

Hi Rafael.......I had Dr. Tanaka too and I am 6 weeks post op and down 48 lbs. I had a ruff time in the beginning the first month is the pits. My suggestion to you is to try sugar free Popsicles no fruit juice added, non-fat cottage cheese, sugar free fat free yogurt(Albertson's makes it), and sugar free jello. I stuck with that for about 2 weeks then I ventured into some light string cheese and a small amount of tuna. I didn't feel like eating at all, I still don't, but I had to make myself. Don't be afraid to eat you have to. The worst that can happen is that you will vomit. The vomiting is very different after surgery. The minute it happens you feel a lot better if something doesn't agree with you new stomach. I have only thrown up twice so far. I hope this gives you a few more suggestions. For the record I haven't had an egg since week two it just didn't sit well with me either. Good luck. Wendi

Rafael, I cannot believe your doctor said that!!! That is THE MOST unprofessional answer I've ever heard a doctor give! Call your surgeon!! This sounds serious and I wouldn't wait because dehydration alone can cause VERY serious problems. If nothing else you should have been given IV fluids to REhydrate you! God be with you guys! I'll say a prayer, Carol Percel

***UPDATE**** This update is on my husband Rafael, he is 3 weeks post-op. He was doing ok for the first week weeks until late last week when he started to have soft foods. He started with soft boiled eggs first day ok there after it was all down hill. He started to spit up foamy white stuff now he can't even keep nothing down. He saw his doctor today and he told him he was swallowing to much air.....ok so how does he not swallow air? Doc.was short and sweet and send him on his way, confussed as ever. How do I tell my husband not to swallow air. All he has had since last Thursday is water, if it stays down. He is very nauseated, spitting white foamy stuff, afraid to eat and drink liquids. AMOS family I need your help. Thanks (he is down about 36#s)
