Shelby Baptist Medical Center

"I was actually working as a nurse at a different hospital and chose Shelby as a choice for surgery because I really like it. I could have chose the hospital I worked at but since Shelby is closer and I like it I chose there."

Rex Sherer

"My first impression of Dr. Sherer was that he was a very intelligent man. My opinion of his hasn't changed. Dr. Sherer's office staff has been pleasant and helpful anytime I called. Dr. Sherer is a knowledgable surgeon and also a spiritual man. Dr. Sherer goes over aftercare and what to expect and answers all your questions. He is very patient and lets you talk to him without seeming as if he is hurried. He emphasizes that this surgery isn't a fly by night thing, it is a lifesyle change that must be followed for continued success. Dr. Sherer went over all the risks of surgery as well as the risks of continued obesity. Overall I would rate Dr. Sherer as a 10. I haven't completed surgery yet but my father in law used him for a different type of surgery. His surgical competence and his bedside manner are both great.rnrnrnrnrnThis profile was converted to the new format by:rnProtein Princessrnrnrnrnrnrnrn"
