Now, I will say I suffer from anxiety and just came off my meds a couple weeks ago because they made me gain weight. I've tried several other meds and nothing seems to be a good fit, so...I'm sort of on my own here at the moment.

I have my first surgical consult today - I'm self paying so I don't have to jump through all the ins hoops.
But...I'm kind of drawing a blank here as to what to ask the Dr when I meet him this afternoon. I'm going to ask him if he's had a patie

I found out some things about my insurance coverage and it doesn't seem so great. I'm almost wondering if self pay is a better way to go.

So our new insurance doesn't take affect until December 1, but today I called and asked what the approval process was for VSG. She told me they cover bariatric surgery, but not VSG because it's "experimental".

ok so I just found out DH's new job offers insurance that does cover the sleeve. It doesn't kick in until December 1 so I'm unable to call and ask questions yet.

I don't really know the best place to begin. I assume I'll want to have the surgery at Vanderbilt because it's the biggest and best known hospital around. I am getting just slightly ahead of myself since our new insurance doesn't kick in until Dec but

Hello, I'm new here. I've been researching VSG for about 6 mos or so. I made the first step to call and go for an informational visit to a surgeon and then found out my ins didn't cover it, so I had to "give up that dream".
Now, my husband has
